HERMITAGE HANDMADE FESTIVAL

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, 2023  |  11-4PM

The annual Hermitage Handmade Festival returns for its 8th year! Join us on Saturday, September 16th  from 11-4pm to shop for arts and crafts handmade by 95+ artists. Plus, enjoy free admission to the Claudia Bueno: Echoes of the Heart exhibition, food and dessert vendors, Fairy Hair by Chelsea, children’s activities with ButtarCups, museum scavenger hunts, and more!

Shuttle stops at all satellite parking locations during event. Pick-up and arrival times will vary based on rider volume and demand.

No on-site parking is available. A limited number of disabled parking spots will be available across from the front gate. Ample street parking is also available in the neighborhood. When parking in the neighborhood, please be sure to observe all parking signage, park legally, and ensure that your vehicle is not blocking driveways and walkways.

Well-behaved dogs on leashes are permitted.

This event is free and open to the public. Donations at the door are encouraged!

The Hermitage is seeking high-quality arts and crafts vendors to showcase at the Hermitage Handmade Festival on Saturday, September 16th. The Hermitage invites artisans of all media including ceramics, paper arts, fiber arts, metals, glass, and all other handmade goods to apply. To ensure a balanced variety of work displayed and excellent craftsmanship Hermitage Handmade is a juried show. Three deserving makers will be awarded a cash prize! First place: $500, Second Place: $250, Best Display: $100

Application Process

  • Download and complete the application form
  • Once you have completed the form, email the form and 5 quality jpg images of your work to handmade@thehermitagemuseum.org
  • Applicants should submit ONE email with SIX attachments: 1 completed application form and 5 jpg images. Please do not send more than 1 email.
  • Deadline to apply is July 25th
  • Notification of acceptance is August 4th
  • If accepted, vendor fee due by August 18th
  • Vendors may share a space however each artist must submit a separate application. Please indicate on the application if you would like to share a space.

Vendor Fee

  • 10’x10’ plot (with or without tent): $125
  • Vendors sharing a 10’x10’ plot: $50 per vendor
  • 6’x5’ plot (no tents allowed): $100
  • This is enough space for a 6’ table and 2 chairs behind it.

Vendor Space

  • Hermitage Handmade Festival takes place outdoors. No tents, shelters, or covered spaces will be provided. Rain date is September 25th.
  • Vendors can bring their own tent, not to exceed 10’x10’. All tents must be properly secured against wind. Tents are only permitted in 10’x10’ plot.
  • Vendors will receive notification of their assigned location and setup time before the show via email.
  • Electricity is not available.
  • Artists are responsible for set-up and break-down of their displays.
  • Vendors must provide their own table, table covering, chairs, easels, racks, etc. and all displays must fit within vendor’s assigned plot size.

General Information

  • Deadline to apply is July 25th
  • The Hermitage Museum & Gardens is not responsible for damage caused while your work is on premises.
  • Photographs submitted as part of the vendor application may be used for promotion.
  • Vendors are responsible for their own transactions and keep all proceeds of their sales.

Cancellations and refunds: Once your Vendor Fee is received, it cannot be refunded. If you cannot participate in the show for any reason, please contact handmade@thehermitagemuseum.org as soon as possible.

All work displayed must be original, created and executed by the displaying artist’s or artisan’s own hand and of professional quality. This work is absolutely limited to the work of a single artist or two-person collaborative team.

Ineligible items include items made with commercially available molds or patterns or any item produced commercially or by anyone other than the artist. No representatives or dealers may show. Artists bringing ineligible items to the show will be asked to remove them.

Artists violating the rules of this show will not be permitted to exhibit.
