Hermitage Handmade Festival

Join us for our 2nd festival! Free and open to the public.

SHOP for arts and craft handmade by local artists,
EAT from some of the best food trucks in town,
LEARN about the arts through live demonstrations throughout the day,
and CREATE arts and crafts of your very own with on-site art-making activities.

Parking:
This year we’ve partnered with Norfolk Public Schools to offer a shuttle bus to the event from the WHRO Studio at 5200 Hampton Blvd. The bus will begin picking guests up from this satellite lot beginning at 11:30 am and will continue every 20 minutes throughout the day with the last drop off being at 4:15 pm. Guests are asked to park in spots marked WHRO and will be dropped off at the front gate of the Hermitage.

FESTIVAL SCHEDULE:

11am: Festival opens to the public!
11-12: 96X Hangover Brunch Open Mic on the Back Lawn
11-3: Painting Demo by VAS Painting Instructor Claudia Croneberger
11:30 – 1:30: Ceramic Raku Firing Demo by members of the Ceramic Designers Association at the VAS
1-4: Live Music from Ben Phelps Project
1: Family Yoga with Barbara Schlegel of Cat Cow Yoga in the East Garden on the back lawn. Enjoy a relaxing yoga session great for all ages and experience levels. Guests are encouraged to bring their own yoga mat or blanket.
2-3: Clay Demo at the VAS: Ceramic instructor Angela Tilley will lead a wheel-throwing demo.

Ongoing:
CASH BAR featuring mimosas, bloody marys, beer, wine, soda and waters
FOOD TRUCKS New York Souvlaki and Capt’n Crabby on site
ART CAR Wishmobile – Guests are invited to place a wish on this community art project inspired by the art cars seen at Burning Man.
