June 25- 29: Basket Weaving
Instructor: Louise Dawkins
This brand-new week of camp will surely be a blast as campers explore one of the oldest forms of making: Basket Weaving. We will use various types of reed and found organic objects from the beautiful Hermitage grounds to create our very own unique baskets. Campers will use both contemporary and traditional methods to dye their basket reed and develop their own basket design. Learn what “underwater basket weaving” is all about during this exciting week of camp!
The camp day runs from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a morning session from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., lunch and outdoor time (weather permitting) from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m., and the afternoon session from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The camp day ends promptly at 4:00 p.m.
